There are different ways to implement the 12 Days of Christmas For Your Husband idea.
You can give your husband a gift that corresponds with the number of the day (Day 1 – a single item, Day 2 – something that comes in pairs, etc.). Or give him something small each day (favorite candy, little romantic post it notes, etc.). As I’ve written about in another post, candy lends itself perfectly to putting its name on a little card. (You are the “Reisen” our family is so wonderful, My love for you is larger than the “Milky Way,” I love when we “snicker” together, etc.). You could also wrap up a DVD with a note that says, “I give you two thumbs up.” Putting simple gifts like this together doesn’t cost very much and can be thrown together rather quickly!
During this hectic time of the year, making an intentional effort helps us focus on our husbands & show our appreciation.
A few years ago for our anniversary (which is less than a week before Christmas) I gave Jason 12 envelopes that each contained a pre-planned, pre-paid date! I enjoyed doing this for him (well, us!). Each month I planned something that we had never done before, and wrote a little mushy note explaining why I chose it. A few of the envelopes contained gift cards to restaurants that he had mentioned wanting to try, but most of them were unique ideas we had never considered (rock climbing, ice skating, carriage ride, etc). I included excursions to museums, tourist attractions around town, and even an overnight at a hotel! It took some planning on my part, but we both have enjoyed the adventurous date night we have had each month that year. So, if you want to tackle that idea, you could give him one envelope a day leading up to Christmas. In fact, The Dating Divas have great FREE printouts to go along with this theme!
As I said before, I love gifts and so planning things like that for Jason fills me with butterflies and excitement! However, I have a husband who doesn’t particularly care for gifts. I remember back when we were dating he very politely told me that I shouldn’t buy him so many gifts! I felt crushed (how could someone not like gifts?!). But God makes us each different and my husband doesn’t enjoy them in the least. So, the 12 Days of Christmas for my husband is not full of tangible gifts.
Jason’s greatest love language* is Acts of Service. Cooking nice dinners, folding his laundry, cleaning my car, and the like will be things I am planning for his 12 days of Christmas. Perhaps your husband would appreciate some quality time with you doing something he enjoys each night (watching football or working on a project together). For husbands who enjoy words of affirmation, you can give him a text or note every day with something specific you love about him. And for those physical touch guys, come up with 12 fun things to do in the bedroom together each night!
The point is customize this 12 Days of Christmas Challenge to be something your husband would appreciate!
Have Fun!

I’m so excited to do this this year! I did the whole number theme. Most of my gifts are small things or things he uses anyway, but I still think he’ll be pumped. I’m stuck on #1, though! I had thought I’d do something a little bigger and have that be sorta his main Christmas gift, but I’m struggling. I’d better be deciding though!

Yay! I’m sure whatever you decide for his Day 1 will be great. Tell me what he thinks about it! 🙂

I wanted to do something special for my hubby for the twelve days before Christmas….a tiny gift with a note each day telling him the things that I love about him. ( a pack of gum and a note ” I love your sweet kisses” or a bottle of aftershave and the note “you always smell so good” etc. There are so many wonderful things about him but I having a hard time thinking of tiny related gifts!!
