A few years ago I was helping to choose a curriculum for a local mom’s group. I perused many books on parenting but ultimately landed on No More Perfect Moms by Jill Savage.
The author’s authenticity attracted me to the book because while she was real, she wasn’t whiny. It was easy to relate to her stories and a refreshing way to learn more about God and our role as mothers. My favorite chapter of the book was the chapter entitled “No More Perfect Marriages.”
That chapter served as the inspiration for my blog post, “A Perfect Marriage.“
So, you can imagine my delight when Jill and her husband, Mark, recently wrote an entire book by that same title. Once again, I found myself appreciating their writing style and the truth I was learning along the way. I found myself nodding in agreement, underlining tips for trouble areas, and relating to their situations.
Reading the details of the Savage’s story (which includes infidelity) was the most encouraging part of this book. They perfectly highlight their mistakes in a way that points to God’s grace and healing touch. They write about the battle many of us face in what they call the “Perfection Infection” and warn about the intimacy-killing seven slow fades. But, unlike many marriage books, Jill and Mark don’t just identify the problems couples face, they offer solutions! No More Perfect Marriages felt more like a conversation with wise mentors rather than reading a book. Not only did I feel encouraged, but also empowered and equipped to navigate the waters of matrimony.
I’m so thankful for this book and another example of God’s ability to redeem our mistakes. Use the Raffelcopter box below to enter to win a copy of No More Perfect Marriages and For the Love of Our Husbands!

I think we all strive for perfection in everything we do, and as we look around it seems that everyone has it better than we, even in marriage. So this book sounds very refreshing and encouraging. I’d love to have the opportunity to win it!
