We were at our favorite place, church. The morning worship service had been fantastic, and I had a huge smile on my face as we fellowshipped with great friends. I snuggled up to my husband, linking our arms, as we walked to pick up our children from their classes. It didn’t take long; I would estimate thirty seconds before our moods drastically changed. Jason mentioned being interested in catching a movie with a friend, someone I don’t particularly like. Instantly and uncharacteristically I blew up. My reaction set off a reaction in my husband which then caused me to respond negatively thus continuing an adverse scenario. That five-minute, harsh conversation took 24 hours to resolve. While Jason and I have our share of disagreements and discussions, we haven’t had a blow up at each other like that in years. It caught us both by surprise.
As I looked down at my wrist, I saw my bracelet with the words, “Praying for my husband” inscribed. It gave me a reason to pause my fuming so that I could ask God, “What am I supposed to do with this conversation?” His answer promptly came,
“Remember who the real Enemy is.”
Talk about defusing a bomb! The enemy isn’t Jason, the friend we were arguing about, or even me. The real enemy is Satan. His goal is to wreak destruction and sow division. He encourages hostile reactions and whispers in our ears that we are right, and the other is wrong. I let him into our marriage on Sunday morning without even realizing it. And, honestly, I don’t think I would have seen it without prayer. I’m not wise enough to recognize the Enemy’s handiwork on my own… I need the Lord to show me. He can only teach me these things when I’m pressing into Him. It’s a healthy chain reaction that begins and ends with prayer.
I’m a visual person who appreciates tangible reminders. For months, I had been trying to find something I could wear which would prompt me to pray for my husband throughout the day (and in stressful moments as described above). When my friend, Maria, made me a leather bracelet with a Scripture verse on it, I loved it so much I asked her to make me another one with the prayer prompt. She did, and I ordered several so that I could offer them to you.
Please know, my intention isn’t to make money off of these bracelets. I genuinely desire to have visual prayer reminders in my life because I passionately believe my husbands needs prayers more than he needs air to breathe. I believe that about all husbands. I am excited to offer an original (and stylish) way to promote wives to pray fervently for their husbands. If you are interested in purchasing one of these bracelets, you can do so through the Store tab or the Paypal button on my sidebar. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.
How do you remember to pray for your husband throughout the day and in the midst of stressful moments?

I love that Darby! What an awesome reminder and encouragement. And what a reminder of who’s really shooting arrows our way. Praying many marriages are strengthened thru these visual reminders!

Thanks, Lisa! And yes, remembering WHO is the enemy is so important… something I want to master so I can help teach my children!

I love this! I definitely want one! It may be a few days before I can order. Do you think you’ll still have one? Also, will it fit a small wrist?
Darby Dugger says
Hi Tara! Thanks for your interest! Yes, I just ordered another batch from my friend, so we should have them available whenever you need one. 🙂 I would say so, I wrap the leather strap around my wrist three times and it is loose, but not slipping off. If you have a tiny wrist you might be able to wrap it four times. I’m happy to refund you if it doesn’t work for you.

I know I’d love one. Can you tell me the size? Even when I’m thin I can’t wear smaller bracelets
Darby Dugger says
I don’t know the exact size. The leather strap is at least 12 inches long, if not longer, and then you can wrap it around your arm as many times as needed (mine wraps around three times). If you purchase one and it doesn’t work, let me know and we can work out a return!

Darby Dugger says
Hey Abby! You can order on this webpage, with the paypal button under the picture of the bracelet on the sidebar or you can choose it from the dropdown menu in the store tab. If you have any problems, just e-mail me and I will invoice you personally.

I have recently started reading Fervent by Priscilla Shire (it relates to the War Room movie) and I love how this message ties into it 🙂 I guess at this point my wedding ring reminds me to pray for him but I know I need to be in prayer more and more consistently and deliberately!
Darby Dugger says
I’ve heard great things about that book! And I loved the movie! What a great idea to use wedding rings! I have set the alarm on my phone to go off at certain time every day, but never thought about just using my own rings. 🙂 Great idea! Thanks for sharing.
