Last week I was a yucky wife! Truly, I was.
I was selfish… so caught up in my to-do list that I forgot about his. I was fuming… we had a disagreement and I lingered on it for a couple of days. I was thoughtless… I said something that I should not have.I was unintentional.
On Saturday, I said a quick prayer for the Lord to help change my heart and here was His response:
No, this isn’t my idea, but the Lord led me directly to the Serving Joyfully webpage where, during the month of October, Crystal is leading her readers through 31 days of loving their husband intentionally. Oh friends, how I need this!
I am jumping in late to the game, but my plan is begin today with Day 1 and finish in early November rather than October 31st. I am already excited about browsing this web page every morning for my reminder to be intentional with Jason.
In my devotional, For the Love of Our Husbands*, I wrote about how feelings follow actions. The truth of that formula becomes more evident with each passing year. Because of its reality, I am very excited to see where my feelings for my husband will be after 31 straight days of being intentional with loving actions!
I would love to hear your own ideas of how you overcome the selfish wife syndrome in your marriage (because it seems I have a severe case)! And, if your outlook, like mine, is in need of some fine-tuning… please join me in accepting Crystal’s challenge:
31 Days of Loving my Husband (Intentionally).
