I love these signs I recently saw on Pinterest (click here to follow my boards).
These made me smile because they are relatable (at least to this drama queen). Countless times I have convinced myself of some truth that is fiction. On those occasions where I sense something isn’t right, I have trouble gauging if my concerns are legitimate. Am I overreacting because my feelings are hurt or are there truly negative things going on in my husband’s heart? Whenever that inner conflict arises, I need to stop my inner dialogue and pray,
“Lord, is there something concerning going on in my husband’s life?”
As a wife, I want to know how best to fight for my man in prayer. Living in a fallen world and being married to a fallible man guarantees that there are going to be times when my husband stumbles and falls. Most likely he will try to cover over his sins just as Adam did in the Garden of Eden. However, rather than falsely accusing my husband of anything, I should ask the Lord to make it clear to me whenever there is anything awry in my husband’s life. Going to God first releases me from the burden of fictional scenarios and allows my husband to remain accountable to God rather than to his wife.
The Lord knows my husband’s heart better than I do. When I take my questions and worries directly to Him, I experience freedom rather than anxiety. There will be times when God will reveal to me that something troubling is happening with my husband, and a hard conversation will follow. Other times he may point out areas in my life that need to be addressed. Occasionally, he might lovingly tell me that I am being ridiculous! Either way, going to God rather than my husband with all of my thoughts will benefit our marriage!
